A duplex within the suburbs. The project brief was simple: a single storey home for a single man to age-in-place with a rental suite to provide income. The form is manifest as a simple dynamic shed rising across the lot. The shed creates height for the 'main' house while opening to views of the mountains and the forest in the rear. Trees were maintained where possible on the lot providing a park like atmosphere in the backyard.
